    February

Screening and verification of host family information.        

Feedback from schools and references. Recruit new host families through schools as well as existing and previous participants .

    End of February :                  

    All 2012 host families verified applications on record.                 

    Follow up photos of host families not yet received.

    March : 

    Screening and verification of three month applicants.

    18 - 25 March: Suzanne attends preparation workshops for
    2012 German applicants in Bielefeld and Wuerzburg.

    End of March :    Closing date for German pupils to
    apply for July programmes.

    Beginning of April : 

    South African host family information sent to FSA Germany

    Screening interviews of applicants by FSA Germany
    Letters to schools regarding exchange students.                

    Appreciated if host families also inform schools of exchange visit

    During April: Contact three month host families

    During May :  Contact 4 week host families         

    confirmation whether placements can go ahead.

    Only after families confirm placement can flights be finalized    

    and pupils informed of placements

    Allocation sheet with the student's details sent to host families 

    and contact between families and exchange students initiated. 

    During May: 

    Information session for interested host families -

    dates to be confirmed.

July / August
